When coming back to Portland, you will find me staying here. Access: The hotel is close to the airport but well situated amongst a handful of little shops/stores and a free shuttle that will take you to a nearby mall. The hotel is close to highways without the traveler hearing all the road noise. Hotel: The hotel was very clean. The rooms, i also found to be very clean. The washers/dryers are all free and the small gym was all in working order. There is a nice, separate pool area that was clean as well. Simply a great hotel. Service: I will be wordy here as many people quickly complain when something goes awry.........Absolutely outstanding. I have stayed at many hotels throughout the world and have stayed at a few very near this property. The service here is definitely worth every cent. The staff deserves the highest of stars. Megan, Director of Sales, helped coordinate multiple rooms as i was booking for a handful of people. She came out to talk to quite a few people at dinner, making everyone feel welcome in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Patricia and Heather both worked the front desk and tirelessly answered all of our questions (mainly mine) and provided great recommendations for restaurants in the city. I thank them both. I thank the rest of the staff that i had brief interactions with, including Jermayne...hope you do well in school. Yes, there is a little bit of airplane noise occasionally but it is near the airport. i found only really heavy aircraft were the ones you heard in the room i was in, other than that it was really quiet. This was a great hotel, polite staff that went the extra mile to please! I had not brought my IHC # to credit us for our stay, & Mimi went above & beyond to find it and credit us! A piece of our shower door came off and it was fixed within hours! The breakfasts were very nice (they could use one more waffle maker), but the social times were even better! They also have a shuttle service and are close to shopping of all kinds. Easy expressway access. The kitchen was awesome and fully equipped! « less

We recently stayed at this property while in the Portland area for a family member's surgery. This place was much more than we expected. The little touches are welcoming and appreciated. The breakfast was very good as hotel breakfasts go and the social hour was amazing. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were very happy with this hotel. The only thing that made us go hmmmmm is that on our last morning we had a early flight home so were not there for the breakfast. The staff offered us a on the go bag which we appreciated and took with us on the prompt shuttle to the airport. Once at the airport we peeked in the bag....a cup of chilled yogurt (good), a 5.5 ounce can of juice (bad) and a container of oatmeal that you needed to add boiling water to!!!!(bad). This is a to go bag???? Where am I going to get boiling water at the airport???? And a 5.5 oz juice can will not make it threw security. So we were able to take the yogurt with us but the oatmeal got tossed in the trash and the TSA took the juice cans. The hotel should rethink what they place in the bags. How about an apple or banana which are both on the breakfast buffet? And one of those yummy fresh baked cookies from the social? And one of the muffins that are on the breakfast buffet? What is in there now is not anything you can eat on the go. We would definitely stay here again. « less

This hotel went above and beyond what we expected. We booked a two bedroom suite for a few nights while dropping our son off at college. The suite was huge - a living/dining room, two good-sized bedrooms, two bathrooms and a stocked kitchen too. I loved all the little things they thought of - laundry baskets in each of our bedroom closets, televisions in each bedroom and also the living room, a national newspaper delivered under our door each morning, and a local one on the weekends (no charge). Also a local shuttle bus, and free breakfasts (or one to go for early morning departures). Then I realized laundry was free, which was a nice touch. There were a lot of larger sized families staying there. We have three kids, so this was also much better than cramming ourselves into a single room. Also the price was only about $50 more than we've paid in the past for a single room, and for all the perks, it was a much better deal. The hotel was a very social place, so keep that in mind if you prefer solitude. There were many kids in the pool and at breakfast. Even people in the laundry room were talking about their trips. It was great for us, but it might not be for everyone. Also stay on the third floor if you'd prefer not to hear little footsteps overhead. The hotel is only about five or ten minutes from the airport, so it was great for our late night arrival and early morning departure. If you are touring the area, you'll probably need a car as this hotel is about twenty minutes from the city center. Also you'd need the shuttle or taxi to get to a the IMAX line. The only issue I can think of (and it's very minor) is the breakfast area. It's cramped - located on a large counter in a small-ish room, so it's hard to get around people. The coffee is located outside the room, which helped, but everyone was bumping into everyone else while making waffles, getting juice, tea, toast and all the other breakfast items. We are looking forward to a return visit next summer. « less
